Donation and Recycling Centers

Have things you need to get rid of? Instead of putting them in the trash, try out some of these options to help them get reused or recycled!

Donate Used Goods

Donating gives another life to the things you have that are still in good condition. As the saying goes, “One person’s trash is another person’s treasure”. Here are a few of the many sites that accept various kinds of donations. Check out their websites for details of drop-offs and hours.

Savers – 1160 Broadway, Saugus, MA 01906 (781) 231-1232

Salvation Army – 209 Broadway, Saugus, MA 1906 (781) 231-0803

Goodwill – 301 Newbury St, Danvers, MA 01923 (978) 791-0600

Recycle Electronics

By recycling electronics, you ensure that those materials aren’t getting into the waste stream and contaminating the environment, and you reduce the amount of natural resources that have to be extracted from the environment to make new ones— making this a double win in terms of sustainability.

Both Staples and Best Buy have free collection stations for your used electronics! Visit their websites for the most up to date information on these programs.

Saugus CHaRM Center

The Saugus CHaRm Center (Center for Hard to Recycle Materials) is a local place to bring your materials that can’t easily be recycled in curbside pickup. If you don’t have a curbside pickup program, they also accept traditional recyclables such as paper, plastic, and cans.

For an annual fee of $25, residents can purchase a sticker that will allow them to access the Center. Check the town website for the hours of operation.
